Shuttle to the start of the half and quarter marathon:
The journey to the start at Velden (for the half marathon) and Pörtschach (for the quarter marathon) can be done easily and comfortably by train. Just across from the Minimundus Klagenfurt (here are plenty of parking spaces – see below) is the ÖBB train station “Klagenfurt West”. This station serves as the “central station” for Kärnten Läuft. From there, trains run frequently to Velden and Pörtschach (see train schedule below). These trains can be used free of charge with your bib number. If you have to return to Velden or Pörtschach after the race, your bib number serves again as your train ticket. In addition, the journey from Villach is also free of charge with your bib number.
All trains from Klagenfurt West take you both to Velden and Pörtschach, as the route is the same. To get to Pörtschach, you simply have to get off two stops earlier. The journey to Pörtschach takes about 9 minutes and to Velden about 17 minutes.
